Great song. As a child I couldn't stand to hear momma play his albums, later I appreciated his talent a lot. Like all his songs.
I liked all of his songs some more than others. I never purchased any of his songs though, guess I liked them just so often. I did purchase some older songs of others. Like Herb Albert Teaunna Brass, Roger Whittaker, etc.
I have a CD by him where he sings acapella. There are some doo-wop songs on there, he and the group backing him do a great job.
Having played trumpet, I have a few of their albums. As popular as Herb Alpert is, he's not really that good of a horn player. And I've mentioned before that I shall forever carry a grudge because he married Lani Hall, one of the Sérgio Mendes' singers in Brazil 66. She's very talented and muy good-looking...way too good for him.
