    Have you found it yet?

My last thing was an electric belt sander, two days ago. Still haven't found it.

This is the second belt sander I've lost. The first one got attached to a goat while I was trimming his hooves. He ran off into the woods with it tangled in his hair and came back without it. Found it several years later. All rusted.

I lost the air nozzle for my air compressor. I still had the chuck to fill the tires, but not the nozzle to blow away dirt. I eventually broke down and went to Lowes to buy a new one, and told the woman who helped me "As soon as I get this home, I'll find the other one." Yup. Two days later. I suddenly remembered where I had put it. And there it was.

I recently had the same issue with crescent wrenches. I could not find the ones I had. I KNEW I had 2 or 3 of them. So I eventually made my way to Lowes again (knowing it was gonna be a repeat performance of the air nozzle) and bought myself a set of 2 and then a large 3rd one as a single unit. I got home, took them out of the blister paks, went to my tool chest to decide where to put them (there are no like-kind things they naturally belong with), made my decision, opened that drawer, and there lay 2 crescent wrenches, where I had obviously made that same decision some time in the past. Now this was as soon as I got home, not days/weeks later. And I have no idea why I did not look there before. Only one of them was a duplicate size, so I put the dupe in my in-the-house toolbox and kept them all.

A few weeks ago I bought a 6 pack of assorted screwdrivers, because I got tired of looking for one.

When I didn't need them anymore, screwdrivers showed up all over the house. It seems to run in cycles. I just can't get in sync.

I have hidden my old garlic press somewhere. After tearing up every drawer in the kitchen I ordered a new one from Amazon, so the old one should show up soon in the freezer or somewhere unlikely like my purse. o_O

I think I've told the story of misplacing a thin utility knife, and when I took a picture of my drawer dividers and uploaded it for someone here, I saw my knife off to the side in the picture.

Recently I was making mashed potatoes, so I took the 'tater masher out of the drawer and laid it next to the stove. Then apparently my brain took a mini-vacation and I drained the potatoes then began rifling through the "tool drawer" again. Naturally, the masher wasn't in that drawer so right before I had a hissy fit, my husband pointed out the tool waiting next to the stove. "whuuuut???" blink.gif
