Did you make your own sauerkraut, Gloria? That is one thing I have never been able to eat; smells like vomit to me.

Not bad at all. I put some brown sugar in there with the kraut and weenies. Not a sour taste like the others. I would buy again- we just rarley it that. Mark had second helping which surprised me.
I've always wanted to make my own sauerkraut, but would never attempt anything that gets a layer of mold on top without being guided by someone with experience. I always keep sauerkraut in the fridge in a large canning jar with the lid vacuum sealed, not that it needs such care to keep for an extended period. I'll cook it with fried pork chops, onions, a little brown sugar, and some port wine. Of course, hot dogs (or brats) cooked with kraut in beer is always a favorite.
