I am going all out by fixing spaghetti, using the sauce I made months ago. I am using whole grain noodles. Spaghetti is about the only noodle dish I like using whole grain pasta. Very cold day, so warming up garlic Texas toast in the oven is a win win.
Lima beans with celery, onions, and carrots and ham are cooking for us for dinner later, and i will make cornbread to go along with it once it is about done. This cold weather is just hot soup time for us, although I did have a salad yesterday.
@Yvonne Smith , your lima beans sound good. I need to go see if I have a bag of dry limas and crank up the Instant Pot.
Fried potatoes (yesterday). Since I learned how to sharpen a knife it's not so hard to slice them. I leave the skins on. We never had fried potatoes from scratch when I was a kid. If ever, they were always left-over boiled potatoes from dinner the night before, sliced and fried for breakfast, or the next dinner. I've run out of bacon grease. Vegetable oil and Crisco doesn't add anything. Do they remove the flavor from lard now? I guess I'll find out.
Well, after checking the fridge I decided to heat up the leftover pork tenderloin and mashed potatoes. Also some green peas from the freezer and leftover cranberry sauce. For some reason, I like cranberry sauce with pork roast.
I'm on a roll with this "no cooking" thing. Today my husband brought me a piece of fish and a spinach salad from Luby's cafeteria. He had chopped steak, fried okra, mashed potatoes, cucumber/tomato salad and a wheat roll.
