There's a guy (Rod) who sets up his portable smoker a few days a week in a local parking lot. He trained with a great chef here who I know in passing. Rod makes some good stuff, and his collards are A-1. I've cooked broccoli greens, but have not tried anything else.
Potato soup with crumbled bacon, chives, and cheese toppings, cornbread. I cooked a whole package of bacon so now I have leftovers to snack on.
We are going home tomorrow morning , been in Adelaide for 2 weeks …so we are having what’s left in freezer of our food for tea tonite …a small lamb chop and a bit of nice thin steak ….so even tho I don’t eat allot of carbs we are having a steak and onion sandwich for tea latter today ( it’s only 11am on Wednesday now ) so mine will be a one slice of bread sandwich
Leftover red beans and rice with sausage, corn muffins, chopped salad. Still working on the Christmas sweets though I have frozen a whole pecan pie and a loaf of orange/cranberry bread.
Hamburger steaks with grilled onions, mashed potatoes, sauteed zucchini, wheat rolls. Also a cucumber/tomato salad using produce from the dining room.
Last night, had buffet at South Point Hotel/Casino Garden Buffet. We called it our NYE Dinner. Thin slice of great Prime Rib, great mashed potatoes/brown gravy, piece of baked Salmon and some desert. Great dinner, that is compared to what we've had for the last few previous nights. We still cook at home, but not nearly as much as we use to.
We don't feel like going out since it's NYE, so we're ordering Chinese takeout. I'm sure my husband won't be able to resist the donut shop next door when he picks up the food.
