I don't understand why my phone and iPad get such better results than my laptop. They are all on the same router and located in the same room when tested. My iPad is consistently over 400, but here's my laptop...
Speed hasn't been real important to me, i do enjoy reading of all the different tech speeds, a lot of terms are high tech to me, but when i stop and really think i can connect with them eventually. Have known people over the years that have had dialup, and remember them saying how frustrating, and a patience tester.
Internet speed isn't a big deal unless you have a household of people and devices all trying to use the same "allotment." It also makes for smoother streaming of movies, etc. if you have a faster network... none of that annoying buffering. Last week I got an email from Xfinity that they had increased our speed which I found that interesting since I'd been streaming a movie on Netflix and it kept buffering. They claimed our speed is 500 mbps, but none of my devices support that claim. So they sent a technician out who tested our connections, installed a new router, etc. and we still don't get 500 but it's good enough for government work, as they say.
Mine now says Ping 59, download 6.96, upload .53. And I still don't know what all the means or whether it's good or bad.
