Realize now that the source of mis-information is the drug makers, not at all honest doctors , scientists, or researchers , except of course deceived ones.

Anyone here ever try Tylenol 8 Hr. Arthritis Pain Relief? Nowadays, if I only take a VA Medical prescription of 800 mg ibuprofen, it doesn't do much-to-anything for my daily shoulder osteoarthritis pain. Considering trying this Tylenol and see what happens.

Most times acetaminophen doesn't help me at all, but after my fall a few years ago, I found that acetaminophen relieved my pain where the NSAIDs did not. Turns out that if the pain is not inflammation-related, Tylenol may work better. Give it a try. With osteoarthritis, I think acetaminophen sometimes is better...or the "scrambler drugs" such as gabapentin if it is really intolerable. Make sure you watch your alcohol consumption when taking Tylenol, however.

Ask your Dr for Gabapentin, a nerve blocker that is taken with any pain reliever. The user sets their own dosage for pain management. Great for DDD in the neck and not so much for knee pain or back pain. I would suffer greatly without it ! DDD in the neck causes pain in the shoulders and arms and even numbness of the limbs, which was my problem. The left hand would go to sleep, steroid injections into my upper spine and back helped for about a year. I need to go back and get a fill up ;0)

I sometimes have my fingers stiffen up with arthritis, and a little DMSO on the fingers seems to make it all better right away. It makes it hard for me to crochet or knit when the fingers stiffen up like that.
An interesting thing that I was reading in my DMSO book, about the different healing qualities, is that it also helps hair to grow faster, so many cancer patients use it after having chemotherapy, and massaging it into your hair and scalp is also supposed to help prevent alzheimers and help memory and brain function.

I read that paramedics sometimes carry it with them in the ambulance to be able to treat patients right away, but for stroke victims, they usually administer the DMSO intravenously rather than on the skin.

The old friend of mine said nothing but good things about the DMSO and he would from time to time get a little from someone who knew a vet. He was in terrible shape with his fingers bending and his feet were curling. Today I have a little pain in the left hand but so far I get a lot of exercise doing my computing using the typing. Best school course I learned at 13 was typing. You just never forget !

OK, I looked up DMSO and thought it was some very interesting reading. I intend to research it farther , and may quite likely try it.

But, what is DDD ? I cannot find a reasonable explaination of it / article on it ?

DDD is Degenerative Disc Disease ....... disease sounds like eeww but it is just disc compression where the disc presses against your spinal cord sac causing all sorts of upper nerve shorting. Arms Hands Chest Shoulders, all are likely to have pains and numbness. On a good note in some cases the pain goes away as the disc gets flatter or actually moves off the spinal cord and relieves any pressure. I had a year where it did get less painful but then it returned.

I believe that my eldest daughter had that in her neck, and she had a fancy surgery done at the University of Washington that put artificial discs into her cervical spaces. They entered through the front of her neck and it was quite a traumatic surgery, but she has since recovered and it seems to have solved her problems.

I thought, maybe so, for a while, but I suspect it was merely a temporary placebo effect.
