This is why Hal doesn't hand out likes easily. He doesn't want to be responsible for getting others drunk.
I think this thread pretty much proved, people may have a party with or without you. So, why not make it a BIG party and invite everyone?
Interesting fact! Hal's original post posing a simple question, got 2 likes. Now 10 pages down I am thinking this was a well liked thread and likes don't seem to indicate the power of such an poorly liked post.
Wow Hal! My father was a high level scientist and did astronomy as a hobby. He built a huge telescope during the 1950's. He always told me I was from Antares of the milky way because of my Scorpio birth sign. A few years ago, while visiting a friend, I ran across an old man out in his driveway with an elaborate telescope and computer system. He was studying sunspots for NASA. When I told him my father worked for NASA before it was called NASA, he showed me his garage full of all kind of computers connected to the scope that sent data to NASA. He let me look in the scope at an increasing solar flare. It was amazing and besides the computer video recording, the scope had a high tech camera hooked to it to take higher resolution photos at certain times.
I'm at that totally confused place again. . How did the subject, " Who would you like to have a drink with " get detoured to points, trophies, likes, ect., and then to astronomy. UHHHHH, i don't know. . As far as points, trophies, likes ect., am not here for competition, i understand most all of that stuff, i'm just here for the enjoyment and nice people. That's my story and i'm sticking to it. .
@Micki Pembroke see post #17 where the engineer of this post, Hal himself, side rails this now runaway train, by showing us his telescopes. Now on post #141, this train is so far off the main track, there is no return. I think Hal has been playing with us. He suckered us on the train by choosing drink friends and then hit the throttle for destination unknown. Well played Hal!
This party may never end and is come as your are. You may be the new life this party needs. I will drink with anyone. I prefer spring water, but a morning coffee or hot chocolate is always great. For afternoon a small micro-brew beer or local glass of wine on special occasion and then only one. In any case I have a large bottle of water within arms reach, so let the fun continue.
