This seems like a good analogy to me, if I'm understanding. Because I haven't met God face to face, doesn't mean He doesn't exist.

Atheists of not we must all start to pray for our country's election. So much at stake--and danger.

I am not an atheist, However, I would not reject Atheism. They have the right to their belief, Just as I have the right to my belief.
For me, it's a wonderful feeling knowing that After this life I will spend Eternity in heaven with Jesus, God, and the Holy Spirit, that this is not the end.

Can anyone tell me what a blind child sees or what a deaf child hears?

There, you see? Exactly the type of post I expected with such a topic & it only took two posts. :D
Looks like your beliefs are threatened by others' beliefs - which indicates you have some doubts of your own & a lack of confidence in your beliefs, as well as a lack of respect for others' beliefs that don't agree with yours.
When you say "I think if you are truly an Atheist, you simply are not awake," or, "It simply requires an open mind to see God in some form," keep in mind that an atheist can say something similar, like "If you believe in God, you live in a fantasy world of your own design." As an atheist I would never think or say anything like that because I respect the beliefs of others. You should, too.
Why are believers threatened by atheists, but atheists have no problem with believers?

Uh, ya might want to re-think that statement Tony.
It was Atheists who had prayer in schools banished.
It is Atheists who are offended by Nativity scenes during the Christmas season.
During the Christmas and Easter seasons, store employees have to be PC so as not to offend Atheists by saying ‘Happy Holidays” instead of Merry Christmas or Happy Easter.
It is Atheists who object to God’s Law (Ten Commandments) being displayed at courthouses and schools.
It wasn’t a Christian who had a foosball coach chastised and FIRED for taking a knee and praying on the field after a football game all by himself.

Even here, if you look back at nearly every conversation between Christians in Christian threads, there will be an Atheist or two who will come in and interrupt the thread for whatever end and will inevitably allude to or outright say that believers are stupid.

Truthfully, I have never met anyone at all who is “Afraid” of an Atheist because of unbelief.
Indeed, I have Atheists within my own family but they’re go along and get along kind of people and aren’t out to disparage anyone because of their beliefs nor care about the sight of a cross or the Commandments in public places or care if I openly give thanks to God before a family dinner.

There is a reason for banning prayer/religion in schools, the workplace, etc. People have prejudices & make judgements based on beliefs (as we've just noted here.) That often leads to favoritism & unfairness. I have witnessed this in the workplace and in school.
You are correct about other issues but what you're saying doesn't apply to all atheists; it applies to some - just as not all believers have prejudices against atheists. Personally, I couldn't care less about "Happy Hollidays," vs "Merry Christmas" or Nativity scenes. I live by "To each his own."

“To each his own” would be a wonderful thing indeed if more people practiced it.
That said, the question you raised as to why Christians “fear” Atheists was my reason for posting an answer which was in short, we’re not but at the same time we (in general) do wonder why Atheists are so offended by such things as “In God We Trust” on the backs of our currency or some such.
Frankly speaking, if it is so offensive, then don’t use it. If a cross offends someone, then perhaps they should not keep looking at it.
The only person the image of a cross is supposed to hurt is a vampire in the movies.

    Just as a note:
So far as the favoritism goes, the only favoritism an actual Christian is looking for comes from God and not from man but I do acknowledge that there are some who treat Christianity as some kind of fraternity or sorority which favors it’s own class before all others.

It is true that whilst generalizations do tend to place all people of any particular religion into a box along with some outstanding assumptions, we would do well to look at each individual and how they conduct themselves in society.
I have posted it a few times but once again, when the ice storm hit Seattle in the late 90’s, people of all faiths came to the mission to donate blankets, gloves, food etc.
Funny but it was only some Atheists who declared their lack of faith whilst doing their work of charity. Why?
The fact that they came out in the cold and gave from their hearts was enough to know without any declaration of any religion at all but those making said statements must have felt a need to do so for whatever reason they had.
Is it some sort of personal validation or possibly a feeling of well being brought on by some hormonal activity when one asserts themselves even when there is no need? Again, dunno.

I don't hear much about Christians banning atheism, at least not since the early Spanish colonization, but pretty much every day, antitheists are seeking to ban one form of Christianity or Christian expression or another. As a Christian, I pity atheists. I don't fear them.

Most atheists aren't offended by religion, but antitheists often identify as atheists.

I am not threatened by any such thing @Tony Nathanson. If you knew me, you would be aware of the fact that I am threatened by very little, especially not your beliefs. I just don't think most people who claim to be Atheists are not. They throw stuff out on conversations or on forums that allow it to get a reaction and try to show others how "liberated" they are. You just said you posted to get a reaction, and somehow you think you got a reaction. I really don't care what you think, and you may be an Atheist, but most who claim to be are not. They simply substitute something else as a god. I have only known one person I thought was truly an Atheist. He was/is one of my three geniuses that I have known in my life. He is the only college friend with whom I maintain contact all these decades later. He is married to someone who was a religion major in college and became a Jehovah's Witness later in life. I get a Christmas card form him every year but not signed by his wife. He maintains, like Benjamin Franklin, that religion is the basis for culture and he wants to maintain religious traditions even if he does not believe in their basis.

My comment about not being awake was because most of those who claim to Atheists are those buried in academia and don't really live in the world. That is why it is easy for so many college professors and educators to claim to be Atheists. A simple walk in the woods 10 days in a month or a sea voyage on something other than a cruise ship give adequate evidence of some kind of creative force. That is why there has been some kind of god in the minds of humans since they became human.

There are ways to express yourself without being insulting. When you say "Atheists are not awake," you are showing a lack of respect for others who don't believe as you do. That invites a retaliatory comment like, "Believers live in a fantasy dream world of their own design." See how easy it is?

I guess YOU are the one feeling threatened @Tony Nathanson , not me. I am not at all offended by what you say.

The one Atheist I have known became a Bible scholar. He studied Christianity in all its aspects to begin with, then moved to the study of Islam, Buddhism, and any other monotheistic belief systems he could find. He also looked into Taoism, Confucianism, and a number of philosophies as well. He wanted to prove to himself that no god existed. Have you done this study? My friend discounted the polytheistic religions as too simple, and though that if he could prove to himself there was no single god, he didn't have to worry about multiple gods. He also studied using various aspects of science and finance as religions.
