Probably a current popular name for that one as well. I know what WE would've called it when we were that age....and it wasn't a compliment.
I think most people were so busy looking at her other 'attributes', they never got to the place of counting her fingers.
I thought polidactyles were people with 6 fingers or 4 fingers....whatever. I'll have to go look that up.
A former customer of mine had a sixth finger on his left hand. It grew out of the side of his hand and didn't appear to have much in the way of bones in it but it did have a fingernail of sorts. He wore a diamond ring on it. He'd constantly flip his hand and catch the finger in the palm of his hand. I'd try not to look at it, but would find myself staring again every darn time. Darned strange...….. The Hemingway cats in Key West are polydactyls. Huge feet.
