Now Putin has basically declared the Black Sea a No-Fly zone due to the presence of U.S. carriers in the Mediterranean. This could be interesting since the UK seemed to promise the same thing a few weeks ago then backed off. Some think the reason the U.S. carriers are where they are are to attack southern Russia (Crimea) not the Middle East. Notice the $100 billion in the newest aid package is $60 billion for Ukraine and only $40 billion for Israel, indicating Ukraine is the bigger issue even though much of the U.S. aid has been syphoned off by corruption and been found on the black arms market.
From what I heard on the radio this morning, Biden’s imagination does it again! Whilst visiting Israel, he commented that he was with Prime Minister Golda Meir during the 6 day war. Weird thing but Golda Meir wasn’t the Prime Minister then; Levi Eshkol was. Matter of fact, Meir didn’t even come into office until 2 years after the 6 day war. The other strange thing is that Biden didn’t get his degree from Syracuse until 1968 and wasn’t in office in 1967 when the war broke out.
Tens of thousands of anti-Israel demonstrators flooded streets in more than a dozen countries Friday, clashing with police and burning US and Israeli flags in condemnation of the military counteroffensive underway in Gaza. https://nypost.com/2023/10/13/anti-israel-protesters-burn-flags-fight-police-in-global-day-of-jihad/ A massive rally of anti-Israel demonstrators filled Baghdad’s Tahir Square.
Everything you wanted to know about Hamas rockets but were afraid to ask. They don't seem to be more than glorified fireworks. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qassam_rocket As an aside, Israel's current firepower is no match for the Palestinians so I why are we funding more?
Seems like all others in the mid-east / Arab world just hate the Jews .... Then there was that one guy in Europe 80 years ago. Gotta scratch my head and wonder just why ?
That's right, the reason was what, weapons of mass destruction, 911, and threatening the life of Bush Sr. Right? I just worry about them starting WW3. Too many angry people today, and a divided world even within, doesn't look like it's gonna get any better, anytime soon in the future, if ever.
They didn't find weapons of mass destruction. If we believe the official story, nearly all 9-1-1 attackers were Saudis. I don't think any of them were Iraqis or Afghanis. That doesn't seem like anything to start a war over.
They didn't find weapons of mass destruction, but I believe what they had was moved into Syria during the U.S. buildup. Syria certainly had/has them and perhaps has used them in the ongoing conflict there. I think Saddam's generals moved them without his knowledge, as he insisted on equipping his troops with chemical gear intending to use chemical weapons against the invaders. The 911 attackers were primarily Saudi in origin and were probably financed by the Saudis, but we couldn't anger the Saudi government where much of our oil came from. Whether it was worth starting a war over is debatable, but certainly not in Iraq. The Israelis advised just blowing up the camps and support facilities in Afghanistan and not sending troops in. You just watch them electronically over the months and years, and if they surface, take them out. Don't allow anyone to leave Afghanistan without vetting. Of course, we wanted a war to enrich our political donors, so we didn't take that advice.
Hezbollah is a different matter though. The Iranians can't get weapons into Gaza due to both the Israelis and (to a lesser extent) the Egyptians watching. Syria does no such oversight, so the weapons stream into Lebanon. An attack from the north is what Israel fears most. Hezbollah has missiles that can target the whole of Israel, so they may not invade, just send high-tech missiles over a country the size of the state of New Jersey.
I just saw unconfirmed reports of at least one American military person killed and perhaps as many as three in drone attacks on U.S. military installations in Syria. I don't think the Administration wants us to know we have troops inside Syria, so these deaths may not be announced. A U.S. destroyer in the Red Sea has shot down two cruise missile headed for Israel launched for Yemen and the Saudis have shot down at least one that was fired over their territory. The U.S. carrier task force has backed away to be out of range of missiles based in Lebanon. Things continue to escalate hour by hour and day by day.
Could be, but there is also the fact that we have weapons of mass destruction, as do a large percentage of countries on the Earth.
I feel the same Don, my childhood was pretty much free of the thing of this fallen world, but if I didn't get the news, somewhere, I would seek it out. Not that I stay in it all day long, but it's important to me to be aware so I can make choice, out of what options I might have
Yes, and anymore, our technologies go to the highest bidder, especially by the "illegal arms dealers", or some politician that needs to try and get himself voted in again.
