Usually during December and January we get a lot of sun...albeit cold..here in the South East of England, but this year it's been almost constant rain, and on the few days when we've had a couple of hours sunshine, I've been working, but yesterday was my day off, and we had a little window of sunshine, about 3 hours , so I took my chance to take some pictures of my immediate local surroundings to show you all what it's usually like in winter.... This is a house close by.....at the end of the lane... host image online
This made me laugh...this little long barn next to the tiny village pharmacy has just been newly thatched but they've only got as far as dropping the first layer on , and nothing else has been done yet, no binding, tying or trimming.... so it looks like a huge choir doormat has just dropped on it from the sky...

Here's a quote from wiklpedia ....of what Paul Hogan said in the Aussie movie Crocidlile Dundee when he arrived in New York No wonder you have so many accidents around here, the steering wheels on the wrong side of the car!
Beautifull photos @Holly I luv seeing nice green areas ,We live in the driest state in Australia so we don't have any green areas like that ...We need to go to more tropical areas such as Queensland for that Sydney also gets lots of rain
A couple of days ago we had sun for the first time in a week of rain, .. so we went to the village pub to have some food late afternoon...not surprisingly the pub garden was empty because it was sooo cold and everyone was indoors... but we're made of sterner stuff, and stayed out for an hour, and I took some photos of the pub garden which overlooks the paddocks...and also some photos of one of the ancient village church ... The view over the paddocks..
