March can always bring surprises but it does look like winter is moving on. The snow is melting and it's awfully sloppery out there.

-16 F. here again, but the sun is out. My small greenhouse got up to 78 yesterday with no additional heat. Unfortunately, it doesn't stay warm at night. I have notice sublimation on building roofs despite the temperature, however, so perhaps spring is just around the corner.

It was predicted to be cold all week (below 0 F.). Suddenly yesterday it all changed and now we are to be moderate and snow. Weather service was wrong once again. Presently, it is 26 F. and sunny. The TV guy said this was the coldest first 3 weeks of March since 2007. A blizzard is hitting the west coast of Alaska, but it is predicted to peter out by the time it gets here, but I don't understand why that is supposed to be so. The village where we used to live is currently -5 F. with 50+ mph winds.

Our first night above 0 F. this year I think, and it is currently 33 F., the first day above freezing in quite some time. Maybe that weather change really is coming. Snow is predicted for tonight and tomorrow though.

My favorite weather: 4" of snow on the ground, in the early morning, 50° F at Noon, down to 32° F, by midnight. Yep, no doubt about it, I'm living in the wrong town!

That describes a big part of the mid-Atlantic.

If there's snow overnight and the kids want to go sled riding, they gotta get out and do it early because the snow will likely be melted by lunchtime. That was my biggest disappointment when we move from Indiana...Rosebud rotted away, hanging on the garage wall.

Today's gonna hit 80° here (Let's plant the garden!)
Next week it's forecast to get below 30° overnight (What happened to my veggies??)

    Gotcha, suckas!

Friday hit 80°. I just fired up my wood stove.

It's not gonna be real cold tonight (mid 30s), and it's about 43° right now, but my house had a heat pump retrofitted to it, and the return air vent and the blower/handling unit are right at the bedroom...and it's pretty loud. So I've fired up the stove so as to prevent the heat from coming on. It gives me a restful night's sleep.
Besides, when it gets around 40°, the efficiency of heat pumps starts to decline, so that's usually my threshold for firing up the stove.

It's nice to have this option during the chilly weather. When summer rolls around, there is no equivalent to keep the a/c from firing up all the time...other than sweating.

This is what I get when I click on them:

Might be me. I just noticed an Adobe Acrobat error message on that site, but sometimes that's just bait to get you to install it for no valid reason.

I could see them when you first posted, but now I get the "404 Not Found" error. Did you move or delete the pics on that site?
