Silvia Benoit: Your saying “we” don’t do this or that indicates you think you speak for all atheists which you don’t. They are as varied as the day is long and many of them are overbearing in their insistence that no God exists, when they can’t even define what they mean by “God”.
I've had the same experience with on-line forums where instead of intelligent conversation the atheists resort to silly cartoons to try to convert people. However, many intelligent atheists I've met in person don't believe in the God defined by many churches and neither do many Christians.Both groups realize the unknowable and unfathomable nature of God and therefore there is nothing for them to argue about.
Rose Flowers, I use "we" because 71 years as an Atheist "allow me to say so. One thing you don't know about us is "we" don't want people who were told about the "beauty and glory of Atheism" but only people who convinced themselves. Ciao.
Many people who identify as atheists are actually antitheists, and antitheists will proselytize with all the fervor of a Jehovah's Witness and, in that, I think I'm being unfair to the JWs.
If you think you speak for all atheists you're delusional. One thing you don't know about the rest of us, is many of us are good friends with atheists who have never heard of you and certainly didn't elect you to be their spokesperson.
I am not delusional....but as I said 71 years in "the business" give me an inside info. you will never get / understand; It takes "practice" to recognize a real Atheist. Ciao x 2
