My Dad was also career Military, and as you have read, we moved a lot.

Our family carried our traditions with us wherever we went. Mom did her best
to keep some sort of normality while my dad was away on ship.

My older brother dealt with it by being very outgoing, and a 'joiner'.
He jumped right in to whatever was thrown at him and made friends easily.
I, on the other hand, kind of lived in the shadows. Quiet and had a 'wait and see'
    attitude about making friends.

My place was the library and the books were always the same, no matter where I lived.

Guess it wasn't too bad; I went and did the same thing, also becoming career military.
