I truly wish that the formers of our Constitution would have thought about future politicians who would make being a congress person their lifelong occupation.

And 2: I wish our founders would have thought about future congress people who are so lazy that they will not read a bill before voting on it.
Moreover, each bill should be voted upon on it’s own merit and not a part of some conglomeration of bills.

I guess they figured an informed citizenry would protect itself from these career polititions. But even Davey Crocket forgot and promptly reminded "it wasn't his to give".One of my favorite speeches of Crockets,'Not Yours To Give'.He was still a great American, too bad he had such a death at the Alamo.

Please don't be so easily dissuaded, @Marie Mallery. You don't have to be a lawyer to be a Constitutional scholar. Most of those who wrote the founding documents and put the Constitution in place were not lawyers and they probably knew more about it than anyone.

That is true, @Marie Mallery. The founders thought the electorate would keep things under control. It is the voters and the states who are lazy and ignorant. They even considered term limits at one point, but decided the voters would not tolerate people who wanted to be career politicians. That is one of several things about the founders that they were wrong about. They simply thought we would be smarter than we are.

He was a Doctor, not a formal Constitutional Scholar but I would put him up against anyone regarding the Constitution: Ron Paul.

Our checks and balance system is always at work. Don't forget Trump's appointees to the Supreme Court creating a conservative majority as a counter balance to the other two branches. Don't give up hope. There's always the second amendment and state's rights too. It's a slow process.

Hall on illegals entering what use to be a sovereign nation known as America. I know it is probably too late now to save our nation from these tyrants but still like to hear how we could.
She is a comservative who votes GOP but very upset with these RINOS.

The Sheriff has County wide criminal law jurisdiction, but then again, so may the locals, depends on the expansion of Home Rule authority. However, the Sheriff is not really above them, so to speak.

I disagree, the sheriff has almost complete authority in his county. Or did have before they all became 'political'.
